Publication of TESTEd Teacher and Student Portfolios
The Academy of the Ruhr-University is pleased to announce the publication of the TESTEd Teacher and Student Portfolios. These portfolios have been developed based on in-depth expertise, current research, and valuable insights gained from in-service teacher training within the TESTEd continuous professional development (CPD) training. Participants of the CPD course are encouraged to support their learning process using the portfolio.
The CPD course was developed in the TESTEd project to foster in-service teacher competencies in integrating the cross-cutting issues in their classroom practice. The course was held twice and was based on the TESTEd Syllabus. In-service teachers had the opportunity to exchange with international colleagues, receive input on the cross-cutting issues, and transfer their knowledge into classroom projects.
The Teacher Portfolio represents the outcome of an ongoing process of refinement through its integration into the CPD course. It serves as a valuable tool for structuring professional development and reflecting on teaching strategies, particularly in the context of integrating cross-cutting issues such as sustainability, digitalization, multilingualism, gender sensitivity, and democratic education.
The Student Portfolio is a recent addition, specifically designed for independent use in the classroom. It enables students to engage with the cross-cutting issues by fostering critical thinking and self-reflection. The portfolio encourages students to connect theoretical knowledge to their lived experiences and track their growth in addressing these complex societal challenges.
Both the Teacher and Student Portfolios are now available for classroom implementation, and we look forward to their widespread application in diverse educational settings.
