The second international research exchange
Once again, 10 student teachers from the TESTEd partner universities of Braga, Bochum, Cork, Oulu and Seville were given the opportunity to undertake a funded research stay at one of the participating universities.
Student teachers receive a scholarship to conduct educational research abroad. During their stay at the host university, they observe classrooms and school practice, discuss their topic with researchers from the partner universities and collect data comparing different education systems across the EU.
The student teachers applied for the scholarship through a competitive application process and were selected by a committee of senior PIs from each of the partner universities. Each university hosts two student teachers during the exchange period.
The Bochum TESTEd team welcomed two Spanish students who, thanks to the active support of dedicated teachers from the Erich-Fried Gesamtschule in Herne and the Albert-Martmöller Gymnasium in Witten, were able to collect data and experience school life in the schools in November. The research work is based on research-based learning, developing case studies on different education systems. Both student teachers are focusing on the issue of multilingualism in Spanish and German schools.
Good practice research papers from the research exchange will be published online. The first volume of good practice papers from the Research Exchange 2023 has already been uploaded: https://tested-network.eu/student-exchange/
