TESTEd Winter School
From 04 March 2024 to 08 March 2024, members from all TESTEd teams met in Seville and worked intensively together on the syllabus and the policy paper. In addition to lively discussions, we also had the chance to explore the city and its culture and history together during the evenings.
Javier Martos and Yolanda Morató, PI from Seville, together with Carmela Simmarano and Rosa Coronel Ortiz organized an intensive four-day program. The Winter School served as our platform to polish the ongoing writing of the Syllabus, in which all participants were able to collaborate.
Over the course of the Winter School, we discussed the Syllabus state of the art. Lead by Juan Miguel Dias from team Oulu individual sessions dedicated to each cross-cutting issue were held. In these sessions the participants commented on the current Syllabus and expert feedback, each drawing from their own national perspective and expertise. The individual work and subsequent discussions provided great insight into the work as well as ideas for the next steps. The work was intense but very productive. Working together and discuss our ideas together as a consortium was a huge step forward in our ongoing work on the Syllabus.
We also worked on the Policy Paper, which will be published at the end of the year. Therefore, we focused on integration of cross-cutting issues into teacher education and schools. Once again, we learned and benefited a lot from each other. Our national expertise was attempted to be bundled together as a European standard.
In the evenings, we explored the city’s rich cultural and historical background: From a guided tour through the tobacco factory turned faculty of philology building and the Jewish quarter to Flamenco and traditional Andalusian cuisine, …
