TESTEd Syllabus Addresses Global Teaching Challenges in Europe
A new milestone in European teacher education was reached this week with the official publication of the European Syllabus. Developed through the collaborative efforts of the TESTEd partners under the leadership of University of Oulu, the European Syllabus is designed to offer an interdisciplinary, international perspective on the most pressing challenges facing educators today. The Syllabus is the result of a three-year process, that included the TESTEd partners, schools, teachers, and other relevant actors from the field of education.
The Syllabus aims to support both initial and in-service teacher training by addressing issues such as sustainability, democratic education, citizenship, gender, diversity, and digitalization. By integrating these themes, the project seeks to empower teachers and students to work together towards a more responsible and engaged global community.
The Syllabus not only contains information and guidelines on the cross-cutting issues and their integration into learning and teaching settings but also provides additional material: good-practice Open Educational Resources (OER) and tools from partner countries have been added to enable higher education staff, teacher students and teachers to easily apply the cross-cutting issues to their work.

The Syllabus is set up in a wiki format allowing for a dynamic document, which can be adjusted and expanded in the future.
